DJ Soul Sister is the Queen of Rare Groove, the Queen of Crate Diggers and one of the longest-running underground DJ artists in New Orleans.
She is voted "Best DJ in New Orleans" by OffBeat, Gambit Weekly, and Where Y'at. She is also highlighted in national magazines like URB, Spin, and Wax Poetics (first and only woman featured in its "Record Rundown" section).
Soul Sister has thrown down her blended Funk/Soul/Rare Groove/Discotheque/Jazz Fusion/Boogie/True School of Hip Hop (vinyl only) sets in New York, Philly, San Francisco, Los Angeles and London. She has opened for everyone from George Clinton and George Duke to The Roots and Afrika Bambaataa and many, many more.
