KREWe OF TUCKS
Known for its irreverence, the Krewe of Tucks began in 1969 as a group of Loyola University students. The club takes it name from Friar Tuck, an uptown pub where two college students decided to create their own Carnival Krewe after unsuccessfully trying to become flambeaux carriers. The parade has grown from a small nightime parade of pick-up trucks into a procession of major proportions.

CREDIT UNION FEST
This free festival at Lafreniere Park features great music, food, and a fun children's play area!
What exactly is a credit union? Credit unions provide traditional banking services just like other financial institutions! While others are owned by shareholders who expect to earn dividends, credit unions are not-for-profits that are owned by members (That’s YOU). Credit unions are committed to the success of the individuals, families, and communities they serve, so their profits are reinvested into the credit union or returned to the members (again, that’s YOU) in the form of lower fees or better interest rates. At a credit union, YOU come first.
Hogs For The Cause
Hogs For The Cause is the premier funding source for pediatric brain cancer outreach services in the U.S. Proceeds from their annual Spring fundraiser and barbecue cook-off at the UNO Lakefront have allowed them to give 600 grants over 10 years.
Our acclaimed festival is an annual celebration of the year-round fundraising being done on behalf of Hogs. It also happens to be one of the largest barbecue and music festivals in the country, with over 30,000 fans gathering, dancing to 20 bands and eating their way across 90 competing barbecue teams. Over the past decade, the festival has become a flagship of ours, allowing us to raise millions of dollars and shine a light on our cause.
