LOST BAYOU RAMBLERS
For the better part of the last decade Grammy Award Winner Lost Bayou Ramblers have pushed the borders and boundaries of those who listen to Cajun music and where the music is played. Traditional at heart, the live sound has evolved into a fervent assault of expression equally akin to the NYC Bowery clubs of the late 70's as to the prairies, bayous, and Louisiana dance halls of the 30's, 40's, and 50's. With no claims at reinventing the proverbial wheel, the band simply strives to do what many have done over the last century: take a rural or folk artistic expression and deliver to the masses with a sense of style and youthful and zeal. The band has won over fans across the United States, Canada, and Europe and are equally comfortable on the festival stages of the National Folk Fest, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and the Calgary Folk Fest as they are on the legendary club stages of the Continental Club in Austin, The Mint in Los Angeles, or the late CBGB's in NYC. The key to the Lost Bayou Ramblers success is having a good time both for the crowd and band alike.
