THE PINETTES BRASS BAND
The Pinettes are New Orleans only all-female brass band. Founded in 1991 at a local all-girls Catholic high school, The Original Pinettes have performed at venues and festivals around the city and, eventually, around the world. Christy Jourdain leads the dynamic ensemble on her snare drum. The band released its first CD in 2013 (titled, appropriately, “Finally”), have opened for the likes of Katy Perry and Arcade Fire, and continued to energize crowds with their enthusiastic takes on the New Orleans brass band repertoire.
